An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
