I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually happening.
